Waterfall Lodge and Retreat is an epic spot to have a wedding in Northern California. Nested in the midst of the iconic and breathtaking redwood trees with A-frame cabins scattered throughout the property.
The giant shadows of those towering red trees danced across buildings and the ground. Getting hitched under a grove of Redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains is what California wedding dreams are made of.
Here is a glimpse into a celebration we captured at Waterfall Lodge and Retreat. They day was filled with natural decor so that the beauty of the grounds could take the show. All of the guests stayed in the A-frame cabins, with winding pathways connecting them all. We love venues with guest accommodations so that after getting wild on the dance floor and filling their bellies with bubbly, friends and fam have a cozy place to walk back to and have an easy place to sleep once their feet are sore from all of the dancing.
As guests gathered for this celebration, the air was fresh fresh and the sun crept through into the space. You could hear laughter echoing up to the very tip of the treetops. Everyone gathered beneath the trees to witness these sacred moments between lovers. Before sharing their first kiss as mister and misses, they planted a new redwood in honor of their love.
They gave giant sequoia seedlings as guest favors and had big, pastel blooms filling the tabletops. Candles flickered as the sun set and the stars appeared,a giant canopy over those majestic trees and the joyous humans dancing below.
Simple, romantic, and natural. Overflowing with fresh air and beauty.
