This is the story of Kristen and Kirk’s Grass Room Wedding. They planned a modern celebration in the heart of DTLA. With their very own cool take on classic wedding style, these two planned a day that felt totally them. They prepared for their day above the city streets at the modern, brick covered Downtown LA Proper Hotel.

They tied the knot at the grass room surrounded by their loved ones. This space is the perfect venue to celebrate because its bursting at the seams with greenery and has splashes of modern colors and decor throughout. With disco balls above, A Roman Holiday playing on the projector screen, and polaroid cameras circulating the dance floor to capture the fun, guests boogied the night away in celebration.

A few words for the couple on the inspiration for their day:

“We gathered inspiration from a lot of different sources and other weddings we saw online, but ultimately wanted our wedding to feel very “us.” We wanted it to feel elegant, yet inviting, with a few unexpected elements. Overall, our decor was on the more casual side, so we elevated it a bit with what we chose to wear and kind of took a “less is more” approach. We didn’t want our wedding to feel too traditional, but at the end of the day, we wanted a modern twist on that classic wedding look. It really turned out to be everything we wanted it to be and we were so happy that so many of our friends and family told us, “it was so you.” “

They wanted the decorations and style of the day to feel eclectic, cool, unexpected, fun, elegant, old Hollywood meets modern day LA. They nailed it and it was such a big honor to document their story!
