A Millwick wedding in DTLA, this is the story of Sarah and Gian’s tropical maximalist disco celebration. They got ready in a retro-inspired, modern room at STILE Downtown Los Angeles and then tied the knot and partied their hearts out at the Millwick in the heart of the Arts District.

Surrounded by the bustle of the city, they threw a big party to celebrate their love. Their day was filled with bright colors, sparkly details, and their beloved dog was one of the main stars of the event. Even their outfits fit the inspiration; Gian decked out in bold color and Sarah wearing a silver sequin dress. The epic floral design included tinsel installations that filled the space with so much color and character. Their party ended with neon heart ice cream cake and dancing the night away under flashing disco balls.

Why we love weddings at the Millwick:
Millwick wedding is perfect for couples who want something a little different—modern, urban, and effortlessly cool. Tucked away in L.A.’s Arts District, Millwick blends industrial style with lush greenery, offering a rare mix of city edge and hidden garden. Think exposed brick, vaulted wood-beam ceilings, and tropical plants spilling into every corner. It’s the kind of space that doesn’t need much dressing up but leaves a lasting impression.

Millwick isn’t just about the aesthetic (though it’s undeniably strong on that front) —it’s also designed to keep the day running smoothly. With an indoor/outdoor layout, a built-in sound system, a private suite, and a spacious courtyard for cocktails or late-night dancing, everything’s already in place for a seamless celebration. A Millwick wedding gives you the freedom to create a wedding that feels like you—stylish, fun, and totally relaxed.

Whether you’re planning a smaller gathering or a full-on party, Millwick has the kind of laid-back energy that makes guests feel instantly at ease. The surrounding neighborhood adds to the vibe with walkable spots for pre-wedding drinks or next-day brunch. A Millwick wedding isn’t your typical venue—it’s an experience that blends style and substance in the heart of the city.

Some words from Sarah on the inspiration that went into planning their Millwick Wedding:

“Tropical disco” was one of the original descriptors I had for our wedding vision when we first talked to our wedding planner, Kari. I also love maximalist design, so I knew I wanted the decor to be really bright and in-your-face. We also really wanted the whole day to be more like a big party than a traditional wedding, so that drove a lot of the bold color choices and sparkly accents.”
