This is the story of Muriel and Alan’s intimate intimate 29 Palms Inn Wedding. Their day was filled with inspiration they pulled from the color palette of the Inn, the 60’s, their cats, and both of their unique taste’s and personalities. It was a retro, colorful, and casual celebration that screamed of summer and simpler times.

Planning a wedding during a Pandemic is changing everything right now. Between new financial strains and COVID19 forcing us all to remember what is truly important in life, it’ll probably change how a lot of couples view a wedding celebration. Some couples will now opt for focusing on the essentials of what makes a wedding a wedding. Getting together with your absolute favorite people to celebrate your love. Some of our favorite weddings to capture have been some of the simplest ones. After stay at home orders and quarantines lift, we predict there will be an increase in DIY, simple, intimate gatherings. Probably more celebrations out in the middle of open nature. We can’t wait to be dancing under wide open skies and witnessing vows surrounded by natural beauty.

Muriel and Alan’s wedding is the perfect inspiration for all of those things: Casual, DIY, an intimate guest list with just their closest loved ones, and no better place to wed than surrounded by the natural landscape of the open Mojave Desert.

They combined their names for the theme of the day: Murlan forever. (Obsessed!) They got ready tucked away in the colorful southwest buildings of the Inn. Sun flooded in through the windows as Muriel pulled on her gold and pink retro wedding dress. Pink, yellow, and orange details all throughout the day: Oranges on each plate, marigolds sprinkled everywhere, painted pink fruit as decor, and colorful retro glass dinnerware for dessert and coffee. The Bridesmaids wore assorted yellow dresses and vintage porcelain cats perched atop their wedding pie. And they spoke their vows in front of the perfect retro backdrop handmade with pinwheels, pink streamers, and big yellow block letters spelling out ‘MURLAN FOREVER’.

Whether you are planning a big shindig or simple gathering, we are constantly dreaming of toasting and hugging and gathering together with you again.
