This is Subha and Charlie and the story of their Cap Rock Wedding in Joshua Tree National Park. Their day was intimate, peaceful, and filled with natural desert beauty. We will never forget these days from 2020 and early 2021, where couples decided to forgo a big, traditional celebration and instead invited their closest few loved ones to witness their commitments. There is something so meaningful about each one of these celebrations and we hope that, in some ways, even when we are able to gather big again, some of these perspectives and more intentional ways of having a wedding make their way into all wedding planning in the future.

Subha and Charlie hiked out to Cap Rock to say I do. Big Desert landscapes surrounded them, scattered with Joshua Trees and big boulder formations in the near distance. Rock climbers and hikers shuffled on past. The desert air was peaceful, like always. They brought 4 of their best friends, an officiant, and us, and my oh my was it beautiful. They laughed together and made some beautiful promises in that warm winter desert sun. Afterward they popped some bubbly and shared some cheers with their besties while the moon already hung high above their heads.

The ended the night at a desert airbnb and hired a private chef. They enjoyed fine fare under twinkle lights. Cheers, stories, and laughter were abundant and the while evening felt peaceful and magical.
