Wedding at Prim Mexico City || Romantic Destination Wedding on 35mm + Digital

A romantic destination wedding at Prim Mexico City. Joey and Isabel threw and unforgettable celebration in the heart of CDMX. From the welcome dinner at Club San Luis to their intimate candlelit dinner party, this wedding was truly unforgettable.

What were some inspirations for your wedding?
When envisioning our wedding day, it was so important for us to feel at peace, present, and inclusive. We wanted the reception to feel like an intimate dinner party followed by a disco afterparty. We aimed for a vintage, playfully elegant, cool vibe overall.

What are some adjectives that describe your wedding decorations and style?
Vintage, colorful, intimate, natural, cool, fun, artistic, relaxed.

What did you love about your day/location/venue?
We fell in love with Mexico City during a memorable anniversary trip, and actually (unknowingly) found our wedding venue that weekend while attending Salon Acme with a friend. We love the rustic romance of the space and that it can, at the same time, feel so magnificent yet intimate. The spirit, cuisine, culture, and beauty of Mexico City was irresistible for us and we knew that anyone who hadn’t visited yet would fall in love, and that our friends that had would be itching to get back.  We also loved how each part of the evening was a slow reveal of the venue: the ceremony took place in Prim 32’s courtyard beneath a fabulous mural, after which the guests were led to Prim 30’s upstairs balcony for a cocktail hour serenaded by mariachi. Guests could look down from the balcony upon their candlelit tables which they descended to at dusk for a killer 4 course meal. Following dinner and speeches, we guided our guests to a hidden dancefloor in the back of the space, complete with an awesome kinetic light show and DJ set. We loved that element of discovery and delight of not only the venue, but CDMX too!

Best decision during wedding planning?
Aside from partnering with the most incredible team to execute our dream wedding, the best advice we received was to find joy in the planning process, however stressful it might get, because that process is a lot longer than the actual wedding day. Also, we were really glad we decided to mix up friend groups at dinner because it led to new connections and friendships from different parts of our lives. And lastly…to have Joey pack backup shirts in preparation of sweating and dancing all night!

Something you would do differently if you had to do it over?
I wish we’d torn ourselves away from the dance floor for long enough to try the late night tacos and churros!

Most memorable part of the day?
After our first dances, we sat down at the head table with our siblings and found that Isabel’s brother had ordered a bottle of tequila to the table. We immediately poured up a toast, and that moment of looking at each of our siblings and the joining of our two families was unforgettable. Another remarkable part of the day was Ituarte’s unparalleled service. From the moment we walked into the venue to when we finally stopped dancing at 2am, we felt so taken care of and so did our guests. We’ve never experienced a team that anticipated ours and our guests’ needs as well as they did!
