A wedding at Grand Powers Paris. An Art Deco and old Parisian inspired wedding in the City of Light. Inna and Evan decided to host a wedding celebration in one of their favorite corners of the world. Paris is one of the most charming, romantic, and inspiring cities to get married. They wanted to plan something intimate where their families from different corners of the map could gather and all experience Paris and celebrate together. Inna and Evan are artists and Inna is also a wedding photographer, so we knew this celebration was going to be incredibly inspiring and meaningful to document.

An interview with the couple about planning and hosting their wedding at Grand Powers Paris:

What were some inspirations for your wedding?
We were inspired by our previous travels together. We loved the excitement of experiencing a new place together, and wanted to replicate that feeling for our wedding with our closest family and friends. The idea of Paris was a spontaneous one, but I think we chose it because we were inspired by the idea of a city with plenty of history, charm and culture (and good wine and cheese!).

What are some adjectives that describe your wedding decorations and style?
Minimalist, Art Deco, Vintage, Old Word European Charm

What did you love about having your wedding at Grand Powers Paris?
Our venue Hotel Grand Powers, had a luxury art deco vibe that we loved. It kept a lot of its original character from the 1920’s so it really captured the old Parisian atmosphere we were looking for.We also appreciated that they had an events coordinator set up the wedding reception for us, and made everything incredibly easy to plan from the other side of the world.

Best decision during wedding planning?

Choosing to do a destination wedding. Instead of stressing about planning a traditional big wedding at home, we were filled with excitement about the adventure we were about to embark on and couldn’t wait to experience it with our closest family and friends. Planning an intimate wedding on the other side of the world also forced us to let go of control, and to trust that everything would come together (and if it didn’t, it didn’t really matter because we were in Paris with everyone we loved!)

Something you would do differently if you had to do it over?
Because we had such an intimate wedding we didn’t get to have a dance party. We love to dance! In retrospect, I think we would have tried to research a club or concert somewhere in the city that could offer that after the dinner reception was over. We still had a great after party at a cool english style pub called Winston Churchill!

Most memorable part of the day?
Reading our vows in private on our Parisian balcony during sunset. We’re glad we saved them for this moment because it was really emotional. I love that we had that moment just for the two of us, with the most beautiful backdrop!
